In a world where the safety and well-being of our youth were paramount, the Wesleyan Foundation For Men (UMMF) took a significant step by sponsoring the International Safeguarding Youth Symposium. This initiative was more than just a sponsorship; it was a profound commitment to safeguarding the future of our younger generations.
The United Methodist Men’s Foundation had long been a beacon of support and guidance within the community. Men have been supported in faith and growth. Youth have been supported in Scouting. By aligning themselves with the Safeguarding Youth Symposium, they actively demonstrated their dedication to the protection and nurturing of youth. This sponsorship was a testament to their belief in the importance of creating safe environments where young people could thrive.
The symposium brought together experts, educators, and advocates from around the globe to discuss and develop strategies for youth protection. The involvement of the United Methodist Men’s Foundation highlighted the critical role that men could play in this mission. It was a call to action for men everywhere to step up as faithful defenders of youth, ensuring that they were protected from harm and given the opportunity to grow in a safe and supportive environment.
This partnership also reflected the Foundation’s commitment to the values of faith, integrity, and community service. By supporting the symposium, they not only contributed to the immediate safety of young people but also fostered a culture of vigilance and care that would benefit future generations.
The Foundation’s sponsorship of the Safeguarding Youth Symposium was a powerful example of men stepping into their roles as protectors and advocates for youth. It was a reminder that safeguarding our children was a collective responsibility, and through such initiatives, we could build a safer, more nurturing world for all.
This grant, which supported our work to protect children from sexual abuse, has had a profound
impact. It enabled us to support a symposium that brought together leaders in the field from around
the world. Through this event, a bishop, a chancellor, and church leaders were trained and
resourced. The work continuesas we share resources with the worldwide church, including the World
Methodist Council, and through social media. This unprecedented grant has madechildren safer
worldwide through educating adults. We are deeply grateful for the Wesleyan Foundation support in this critical area.
