Key to Improving Business Practices

News stories highlight the many woes and challenges present in today’s world. The Wesleyan Foundation For Men addresses a vital key element that has demonstrated potential to change things for the better. We do this through grants that empower groups, projects and activities that offer solutions. Moral values traditionally originate from Biblical scripture.

Men equipped with Biblical values generate better business environments.

Numerous Study findings show positive results when men are taught through the church Biblical values and behaviors. One such study* reveals that Judeo-Christian ethicality has a positive relationship to factors connected to a society’s sustainable business culture—that is, more economic freedom, higher economic activity,
improved gender equality, better social progress, and lower corruption.

The Main Idea

Families are the primary place where religious beliefs are taught and passed down from one generation to the next. This study looked at one specific family that owns a business to see how they actually put their religious values into practice at work.

How They Did It

The researchers used two main concepts to analyze the family:

  1. Intergenerational Solidarity: How closely the different generations stay connected and support each other.

  2. Values-Based Leadership: Leading a company based on deeply held personal beliefs rather than just profit.

What They Found

By studying the family’s history and interviews, the researchers discovered that:

  • Stronger Bonds: Sharing religious values helped the family stay united and work better together.

  • Leadership Style: Those values shaped how they managed their employees and made business decisions.

  • Positive Results: This unique way of leading led to specific, successful outcomes for the company.

The Bottom Line

The study explains the “how” and “why” behind religious families running successful businesses. It shows that when a family stays united through their faith, it changes the way they lead, which ultimately impacts the entire organization.
